Introduction to Hospitality
Gain an understanding of food handling and preparation in a commercial kitchen setting. Participants will acquire their online Certificate in Food Handling and will put the theoretical knowledge into practice whilst assisting to prepare and serve meals in our Sparechair cafe. This course has been designed to lead into work in the hospitality area and may also lead to further Certificate studies.

Social Media Marketing for Small Business
This course provides Social media marketing skills for small business. It provides a pathway to small business start-up, workplace technology at KNLC, Cert IV business or small business employment.
Introduction to Horticulture
Learn about plant and tree cultivation, pruning, disease and pest control and garden management. It is taught by a qualified Horticulturalist currently working in the industry.

Introduction to Trades & Home Maintenance
Gain knowledge to carry out basic carpentry skills and develop skills to perform maintenance tasks on hand and electric tools. This course has been designed as a possible pathway into the building industry or further training at Swinburne TAFE.

IT for The Office
A course designed to improve your IT skills and get you up to date with Windows 10, Office suite 2016, Social Media and technology commonly used in the work place environment. This course is a pathway to paid employment or further studies. Intermediate computer skills are a pre-requisite for this course.

Have you got ideas for starting up a new business and don’t know where to start? This course will introduce the planning steps towards getting started in a new venture.
Excel Fast & Home Budgeting
In four easy lessons learn to navigate Excel shortcut keys and develop greater confidence setting up and using spreadsheets.

Barista Training
Participants will gain a solid foundation in coffee making skills which will assist in finding work in the cafe industry where the demand for skilled baristas/cafe staff is increasing. Our course provides you with basic coffee making skills, point of sale, customer service and food handling. In addition the Centre offers on the job hospitality experience working in our Sparechair Cafe.
