An opportunity to revel in the colour and shapes of plants.

The art of botanical illustration requires discipline and meticulous observation. We know that there are those who paint plants simply for the love of it and others who, like the 16th and 19th centuries European artisits, produced work of great beauty and mastery of technique.

This course will try to find the middle ground between these two aspectsof botanical art.

The teacher, Ana maria Espinoza, is a freelance illustrator, art teacher and art curator involved in different community-based projects. She recently illustrated ‘A Breath of Fresh Air: Stories from the garden of the Royal children’s Hospital Melbourne’
